Foot-powered Lathe
Our Lathe is an 1860’s original from Iowa’s Amana Colonies.  It was converted to a motorized tool at one point, so we had to engineer and rebuild the flywheel and treadle.
It can turn stock up to five feet long with a 16-inch diameter.  We use it to make round table legs, bed posts, spindles, columns and baseball bats.
